why aren’t you listening to…
…Villagers (@wearevillagers)? When you write a music blog and it is basically your job to be up-to-date on new acts, it is rare that someone will introduce you to a band you have never heard of. So when not one, but two of our friends (one who is Irish and one who lives in Hong Kong) both mentioned the (previously unknown to us) band Villagers to us in the same week, we had to investigate. And thank goodness we did. Villagers is an Irish Indie Folkrock band fronted by Conor O’Brien and if we had it to do over, their 2010 album Becoming A Jackal would have been in our top ten list for the year. Check it.
